© Hands 4 souls 2011 Johan Leech has Free State colours for Rock & Surf Angling and took part in the SA Angling Championships this year. He  has a 2nd dan black belt in JKA karate and coaches this discipline.  On top of this he has Northern Free State colours for road cycling and took part in the SA Road Championships three times. His best times: 3:11:24 for the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour, 2:23:09 for the Pick n Pay Hyper to Hyper and 2:45:22 for the Investec  Tour D’Urban Xolani Zwane has completed the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour as well as Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenges. He has set his sights on The Durban Amashova  Classic.  He says that he loves cycling and it is the best endurance sport. He is now ready to do it for a purpose. Jaco Labuschagne was a social rider 10 years back. He has decided to give up   partying a bit to ride for a purpose. He is a man of his word and with encouragement of his colleagues will start training again. He says he is keen to see where this challenge leads him and hopes to complete a few races.   Rob Schroder used to be a runner but now enjoys mountain biking. He is looking forward to doing a few road races. He has two small children and is passionate about the welfare of kids. His participation is the inspiration behind a few of the members. He is also the captain of the “racing snake” fraternity in our team. Martie Miles took time off from cycling after completing the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour. She said this time round she is doing it just for fun and to support our good cause. Naomi Koekemoer, like her sister Martie took time off from serious cycling. She has completed a number of Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tours as wel as The Tour D’Urban. Be on the lookout  for these two enthusiasts training in and around Fochville. Basil Anthony started cycling long before gear levers were fitted to handle bars. He has taken a break from cycling but is now back in full force. He has completed the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour a few times as well as the Liberty Ride for Sight. Morne Goosen has done major mountainbike races like the Snickers Winter challenge, Subaru Lost City, Silverstar Dome2Dome, Walkerville Classic and the Big 5 Mountain Bike Challenge. He was the winner on three occasions. He also completed the Dischem Ride for Sight and the Pick n Pay Fast One road races. He says winning or losing it doesn’t matter because it is for a good cause. Henk Dippenaar has participated in most of the major races: The Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour, Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge, Carnival City Macsteel National Classic and Durban Amashova Classic. For the last year health issues and fishing expeditions interfered with his cycling.   Johan van Amersfoort grew up racing around on bicycles, motorbikes and in fast cars. He has done a number of mountain bike races is now going to put “tyres to the tar”. He has been nominated as the leader of the young rider group who will pull, push and protect the older riders! Sue-Ellen van Amersfoort used to be a spinning instructor but did not have fun exercising indoors so she took up cycling again. She dedicated her first Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge (2011) to her daughter born 3 months before the race who got critically ill shortly after birth. Ester Wiid has taken part in various triathlons. She has completed the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour on a tandem with Frans and as an individual rider. She has also participates in the Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge and various other races. . Henk van Eeden was in an accident on his way to a training session for the Masters World Wrestling championships. He sustained multiple serious fractures and it is a miracle he survived.  Against all odds, 8 months after the accident with a 40cm pin in his femur he completed the 2011 Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge in the excellent time of 3:13:52. Henk took part in the 2012 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour exactly one year after his accident. Riding for a charity team is his way of showing his gratefulness for his own recovery. Petra Dippenaar has done 10 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tours and a large number of other races, including the Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge. She recently reached a personal dream by successfully summiting the 2nd highest mountain in Africa, Point Lenana on Mount Kenya. Her goal is to complete 10 Cycle Tours Hannetjie Smith is a cycling grandmother and participates annually in major races, including Amashova Durban Classic, the Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge and MTN OFM Cycle Classic. She has completed a number of Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tours successfully including the most gruelling “Tour de Storm” Argus in 2009. Paula Fouche is the youngest rider in the team and a versatile athlete. She started cycling in 2010 and completed her first MTN OFM Cycle Classic in 3:27:53. She has completed a number of Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tours as well as Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenges.  Henkie Dippenaar has participated in a number of Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tours as well as other major races. His best results were 3:50:12 and 3:30:54. He has got a few other events on his bucket list as well: the Comrades marathon and Dusi canoe marathon. Ansie van Tonder has traded her running shoes for a bicycle. She regularly participates in major races and has completed the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour on a tandem as well as an individual rider. She also regularly participates in the Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge, MTN OFM Cycle Classic and other races. Raymond Neuhoff likes anything with two wheels. He has completed a number of major races and his best results were 3:12:54 for The Amashova Durban Classic and 2:45:55 for The Pick n Pay Fast One. Evette Neuhoff like her husband is keen to ride anything on four or two wheels, motorised or those with peddles.  She has taken part in a few Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tours. Mark Fatherley is a social mountain biker and has taken part in the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour. Mark & Raymond have started their training to compete in triathlons.  Jean-Paul "JP" Warrens regularly takes part in mountain bike events and completed his first Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour in 2012 and said “I’ll be back” to do more road races.
